Meet Adama, Kadi, and Rebecca
These are only three of the millions of stories of the children that are surviving on their own.
ADAMAAdama is 18 years old and has five younger siblings: four sisters and a brother. Their ages are between 2 and 15 years. She lost both of her parents to Ebola during the disease's outbreak, and she is the only person that is able to take care of all of her siblings. Due to the heavy responsibility of taking care of five children all on her own, she was not able to continue school.

KADIKadi's mother passed away when she was a baby. After her mother's death she was raised by her "Auntie", who never sent her to school. Instead, her aunt sent her out to sell small things on the streets. If she did not sell enough items during the day her aunt would beat her. Because of this, Kadi decided to move to the streets.

REBECCARebecca was 18 years old when she had to drop out of school so she could help support her family. She and her mother went out to work, but some days they did not bring in enough money to have anything to eat. Once Ebola came, Rebecca lost her mother, sister, and uncle. Shortly after, her father fell sick and had to go to the countryside to be treated. She visits him often, but she believes he is too ill to become any better.
